ABOUT shadowmawr
Built in 1890, Shadowmawr is a textbook example of a traditional colonial revival. The home was originally owned by the Stokes family whose business was manufacturing rubber during the boom of the automobile industry.
The home is comprised of six bedrooms, two antique fireplaces, a library, updated white marble and stainless steel kitchen and a third floor residence which was originally used for the live-in help. The entry and antique staircase is a must see.
Outdoors you will find 10 acres of mixed woodland, fields, stream, pool, barn, and chicken coop with 10 lovely ladies occupying that residence. The backdrop of the neighbors' flower farm with barn, horses, cows and pond can be seen throughout the property. There's the original pump house on the property (featured in the picture on this page) with delicate glass panes housing the old well.
